Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant in Norfolk, VA for a full-time, day shift. You will perform patient care and administrative/clerical tasks under the direction of physicians and the care team.

The role requires a High School diploma or equivalent, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred), and CMA/CCMA/RMA/NREMT-Basic certification with BLS within 90 days. Sentara offers market-competitive compensation and benefits.

Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Position Status: Full-time, Days

Education

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program (Preferred)

Certification/Licensure

• Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic (Required)

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $21.69 - $32.14 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
