Job summary

Suvida Healthcare in Texas is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and keep our clinic running smoothly. You will handle administrative and clinical tasks, prepare patients and rooms, assist with exams, and maintain patient records.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, coordinate care, and ensure timely patient communication. Bilingual in English and Spanish is required to serve our diverse senior patients.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certification or Registration with CCMA, CMA, RMA, or NCMA required.
  • Experience with EMR systems and medical terminology.
  • Previous experience in a medical field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US, etc.).
  • Take vitals and update patient medical history.
  • Review provider orders and referrals with patients.
  • Reinforce understanding and adherence to care plan.
  • Respond to patient calls/messages the same day.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary care team for continuity of care.

What You’ll Do

Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant will provide physician support services to ensure the clinic operates smoothly in providing patient care. They are responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks.

Responsibilities

  • IM/PO medication administration as ordered by provider
  • Minor Procedures (Minor Wound Care, Suture and Staple Removal, etc.)
  • Assist with in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US, etc.)
  • Vitals
  • Update Patient Medical History
  • Chief Complaints and recent changes to mental, social, physical health
  • Review provider orders with patient
  • Review referrals with patient
  • Review normal/stable labs or diagnostic tests with patient and forward any concerns to provider
  • Reinforcing understanding and adherence to care plan
  • Respond to patient calls/messages same day
  • Collaborate with Medical Assistants, Transitions of Care Team, Chronic Care Team, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team for continuity of care
  • Other duties assigned by provider
