Job summary

Suvida Healthcare is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and ensure smooth clinic operations while delivering patient care. The CMA will handle administrative and clinical tasks, maintain records, prep rooms, assist exams, and manage front-desk duties as part of a multidisciplinary team serving Medicare-eligible Hispanic seniors.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
  • Certification in Medical Assisting (AAMA/CCMA) required.
  • ACLS or BLS certification (or willingness to obtain within 7 days of start).
  • Experience with EMR and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing guidelines and training curriculums for medical assistants.
  • IM/PO medication administration as ordered by provider.
  • Minor Procedures (Wound Care, Sutures)
  • Assist with in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US).
  • Take vitals and update patient medical history.
  • Review provider orders and referrals with patient.
  • Collaborate with care teams for continuity of care.
  • Respond to patient calls/messages same day.

What You’ll Do
Position Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant provides physician support services to ensure the clinic operates smoothly while providing patient care. The CMA is responsible for administrative and clinical tasks, such as maintaining patient records, preparing patients and rooms for examination, assisting physicians with exams, and performing front-desk tasks. Essential responsibilities consist of but are not all inclusive

Responsibilities
  • Assist in developing guidelines and training curriculums for medical assistants.
  • IM/PO medication administration as ordered by provider
  • Minor Procedures (Minor Wound Care, Suture and Staple Removal, etc.)
  • Assist with in-room diagnostic testing (X-Ray, US, etc.)
  • Vitals
  • Update Patient Medical History
  • Chief Complaints and recent changes to mental, social, physical health
  • Review provider orders with patient
  • Review referrals with patient
  • Review normal/stable labs or diagnostic tests with patient and forward any concerns to provider
  • Reinforcing understanding and adherence to care plan
  • Respond to patient calls/messages same day
  • Collaborate with Medical Assistants, Transitions of Care Team, Chronic Care Team, and other members of the multidisciplinary care team for continuity of care
  • Other duties assigned by Center Director and Medical provider

Education, Experience, Licensure, or Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
  • Certification in Medical Assisting from AAMA, CCMA or any other nationally recognized body required
  • Active ACLS or BLS certification (or willing to obtain on within 7 days of start)
  • Experience with EMR (electronic medical records), knowledgeable of medical terminology
  • Previous experience in specific medical field preferred
