Job summary

Novant Health's Heart and Vascular Institute in Matthews is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a dedicated team. Schedule 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, supporting patient preparation, vitals, EKGs, and medical history updates.

You will work closely with Providers and Nurses to coordinate care, communicate testing steps to patients, and uphold compassionate, patient-centered service. A High School Diploma or GED is required, with certification or registration to be obtained

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Must obtain CMA/CCMA/RMA certification within 6 months if not already certified.
• Previous medical office experience preferred.
• Current State Driver's License (Palliative Care Only) required.
• Ability to pass skills validation and competency testing.

What We're Looking For

• Education:High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
• Experience:Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional skills required:Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
