Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant to support dermatology visits in a fast-paced clinic. You will room patients, assist the dermatologist, document vitals, and perform basic procedures while maintaining a friendly patient environment.

The role requires knowledge of EMR systems, strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed. Prior medical office experience is preferred, and benefits are included.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Post high school education in a medical support field preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant, LPN or RN strongly preferred.
• 1+ years in a medical office preferred.
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information.
• Scribing information for the dermatologist.
• Providing post-op wound care to patients.
• Drawing blood and suture removal.
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, Mohs surgery, injections, and patch testing.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies – punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
