Restored Life Continuum of Care is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our outpatient addiction treatment and recovery clinic in Indiana. You will support MAT workflows under supervision, conduct routine intake, and perform tox screens while ensuring patient safety and confidentiality.

Ideal candidates have CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA credentials, BLS, and knowledge of 42 CFR Part 2. Roles involve phlebotomy, injections, and EHR documentation in a fast-paced behavioral health

Qualifications

• High school diploma and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national credential (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA).
• Active BLS certification.
• Knowledge of 42 CFR Part 2 and Indiana delegation standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical intake, including vital signs and history.
• Collect urine/oral fluid/blood samples for toxicology with proper chain of custody.
• Administer IM injections (Vivitrol/Naltrexone, Sublocade) per provider guidance.
• Perform phlebotomy and infectious disease screenings.
• Monitor patients post-injection and during ambulatory detoxification.
• Maintain exam rooms, inventory, and lab calibration logs.
• Adhere to HIPAA and federal regulations for patient confidentiality.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for medications and labs.
• Document care and lab results in the EHR.
• Ensure trauma-informed, non-judgmental patient interactions.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our outpatient addiction treatment and recovery clinic. Working under the supervision of a licensed physician or advanced practice provider, you will deliver empathetic clinical care, perform specialized toxicology workflows, and support patients undergoing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in accordance with Indiana law and clinical guidelines.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical intake, including measuring vital signs, recording medical/substance use history, and performing COWS/CIWA assessment prep.
• Collect and process biological specimens (urine, oral fluid, blood) for toxicology screens following strict chain-of-custody and CLIA-waived testing procedures.
• Administer intramuscular injections (e.g., Vivitrol/Naltrexone, Sublocade) as delegated by the provider and compliant with Indiana MA scope of practice.
• Perform phlebotomy, routine blood draws, and infectious disease screenings (Hepatitis C, HIV, TB testing).
• Monitor patients post-injection or during ambulatory detoxification for adverse reactions or distress.
• Sanitize exam rooms, manage medical supply inventory, and maintain lab equipment calibration logs.

Key Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to federal 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and HIPAA guidelines regarding substance use disorder record confidentiality.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for addiction medications, specialized labs, and secondary referrals.
• Maintain non-judgmental, trauma-informed communication during patient interactions to foster engagement and retention.
• Document all care, lab results, and patient communications accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification: Active national credential (CMA by AAMA, RMA by AMT, CCMA by NHA, or NCMA by NCCT).
• BLS: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of 42 CFR Part 2 patient privacy laws and Indiana delegation standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or psychiatric outpatient care.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols (buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone).
