Restored Life Health Network is seeking a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our outpatient addiction treatment and recovery clinic in Indiana. The CMA will work under supervision to deliver clinical care, support MAT workflows, and ensure patient safety within regulatory guidelines.

The role emphasizes trauma-informed care, accurate documentation in the EHR, and collaboration with physicians and advanced practitioners to support patients through recovery and treatment

Qualifications

• High school diploma (or equivalent) completed with an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA credential.
• BLS certification.
• Solid understanding of 42 CFR Part 2 patient privacy laws and Indiana delegation standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical intake: measure vital signs and collect medical/substance use history.
• Prepare and monitor COWS/CIWA assessments.
• Collect and process specimens for toxicology screens with proper chain-of-custody and CLIA-waived testing procedures.
• Administer intramuscular injections (e.g., Vivitrol/Naltrexone, Sublocade) as delegated.
• Perform phlebotomy and infectious disease screenings (Hepatitis C, HIV, TB).
• Monitor patients post-injection or during ambulatory detoxification for adverse reactions.
• Maintain clean exam rooms, manage supply inventory, and log equipment calibration.

Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, trauma-informed Certified Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) to join our outpatient addiction treatment and recovery clinic. Working under the supervision of a licensed physician or advanced practice provider, you will deliver empathetic clinical care, perform specialized toxicology workflows, and support patients undergoing Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) in accordance with Indiana law and clinical guidelines.

Key Clinical Responsibilities

• Conduct routine clinical intake, including measuring vital signs, recording medical/substance use history, and performing COWS/CIWA assessment prep.
• Collect and process biological specimens (urine, oral fluid, blood) for toxicology screens following strict chain-of-custody and CLIA-waived testing procedures.
• Administer intramuscular injections (e.g., Vivitrol/Naltrexone, Sublocade) as delegated by the provider and compliant with Indiana MA scope of practice.
• Perform phlebotomy, routine blood draws, and infectious disease screenings (Hepatitis C, HIV, TB testing).
• Monitor patients post-injection or during ambulatory detoxification for adverse reactions or distress.
• Sanitize exam rooms, manage medical supply inventory, and maintain lab equipment calibration logs.

Key Administrative & Compliance Responsibilities

• Strictly adhere to federal 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and HIPAA guidelines regarding substance use disorder record confidentiality.
• Coordinate prior authorizations for addiction medications, specialized labs, and secondary referrals.
• Maintain non-judgmental, trauma-informed communication during patient interactions to foster engagement and retention.
• Document all care, lab results, and patient communications accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).

Required Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma (or equivalent) and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Certification: Active national credential (CMA by AAMA, RMA by AMT, CCMA by NHA, or NCMA by NCCT).
• BLS: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of 42 CFR Part 2 patient privacy laws and Indiana delegation standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or psychiatric outpatient care.
• Familiarity with Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) protocols (buprenorphine, methadone, naltrexone).
