Job summary

VNA Health Group in Keyport, NJ is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Primary Care team. This full-time role requires evening and weekend rotation and travel among four Community Health Center locations to ensure consistent, compassionate patient care.

Responsibilities include supporting patient flow and medical records, assisting with orders, maintaining lab logs, coordinating medications and referrals, and adhering to infection control and safety policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; MA certificate preferred.

Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) offers comprehensive, community based, preventive, primary care and wellness services for New Jersey residents of all ages at four convenient locations. CHC health care services are designed to meet the specific needs of the entire family – from annual check-ups and immunizations to sick visits, mental health counseling andcritical prenatal care.

We are currently seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at our Keyport, NJ location. As part of the Primary Care team, this role helps ensure smooth, high‑quality patient care. This full‑time position includes an evening and weekend rotation and requires travel between our four Community Health Center locations—Asbury Park, Red Bank, Freehold, and Keyport to ensure consistent, compassionate care for every patient we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Supports organization’s mission by striving for excellence in all aspects of their job with a focus on positive interpersonal relationship with co-workers
• Assists provider with patient workflow and maintaining clinical records
• Executes order and performs related duties as ordered according to standard operating procedure
• Maintains laboratory proficiency and required log books and records
• Assists in coordination, management and documentation of medications, supplies and referrals
• Adheres to agency infection control and safety policies
• Adheres to the organization’s policy in regards to absenteeism and appearance
• Omission of specific duties does not exclude them from this position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment for this position

Job Competencies & Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved school
• 6 month+ of supervised medical assistant experience preferred
• Experience in EKG and phlebotomy
• CPR certification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s license and auto insurance

Working Conditions/Physical Demand

Working indoors with telephone, copier, fax machine, computer, printer, centrifuge, electric exam table, glucometer, nebulizer, needles/syringes, oxygen equipment, personal automobile, scales, sphygmomanometer, stethoscope, thermometer, venipuncture equipment, wheelchair.

In compliance with New Jersey's Pay Transparency Act, the compensation range for this position is USD $16.00 to USD $24.00.
