Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a qualified medical assistant who will support providers in delivering safe, quality care. A high school diploma or GED is required, with certification from CMA/CCMA/RMA or equivalent; if not currently certified, certification must be obtained within six months of hire.

A valid driver’s license may be required for palliative care responsibilities. Experience in a medical office is preferred, and the role emphasizes competency testing and adherence to approved registries.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certifications must be from CMA, CCMA, RMA, ARMA, NCCT, NAHP, AA H or NHCWA; if not currently certified, certification must be obtained by end of month 6 of hire.
• Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire (CMA/CCMA/RMA) required. State driver's license may be required for palliative care.

What We're Looking For

• Education:High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including: CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA) RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT) American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA) National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA). If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement.
• Experience:Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
• Additional skills required:Ability to successfully complete generic and department specific skills validation and competency testing.
