Job summary

VitalCore Health Strategies in Georgetown, DE, is seeking a Full-Time Certified Medical Assistant at Sussex Correctional Institution to support physicians and nurses in meeting patients' health care needs.

The role requires taking vital signs, performing phlebotomy, EKGs, and basic treatments while maintaining infection control standards and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Must have active National Certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Subject to initial and ongoing security clearance requirements.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Acute care experience preferred.
• MAT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Takes vital signs, height and weight.
• Assists with PPDs and EKGs.
• Draws blood.
• Measures and records intake and output.
• Assists with patient treatments such as dressing changes, decubitus ulcers, and tracheostomy care.
• Adheres to Universal Precaution procedures and established Infection Control procedures.
• Schedules appointments.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Is proficient with CPR and recognizes need to implement. Receive re-certification training annually.
• Assists in cleaning, sterilizing and securing of equipment.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps, and controlled medications.
• Lab Draws

Education
