RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for our West Park Pediatrics team in Ocean, NJ. The CMA will support providers, manage patient flow, and maintain a welcoming, high-quality care environment.

Daily duties include patient prep, assisting during exams, clinical tasks such as injections and specimen collection, EMR documentation, and patient education. A CMA credential and BLS are required, with Epic EMR experience preferred.

Qualifications

• CMA credential required and active
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 6 months CMA experience
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred

Responsabilités

• Prepare patients for exams: vital signs, histories, comfort
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures
• Perform clinical tasks: injections, specimen collection, point-of-care testing
• Document patient info and results in EMR
• Coordinate patient flow and exam room readiness

A typical day for a Certified Medical Assistant may include:

• Preparing patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs, documenting medical histories, and ensuring they feel comfortable and informed throughout their visit
• Assisting physicians and advanced practice providers during examinations and procedures, anticipating clinical needs to support efficient, high-quality care
• Performing clinical tasks such as administering injections, collecting specimens, conducting point-of-care testing, and completing other duties within scope of practice
• Accurately documenting patient information, test results, and provider instructions within the electronic medical record to support continuity of care
• Coordinating patient flow by preparing exam rooms, maintaining supplies, and helping ensure appointments run efficiently
• Providing clear, compassionate education to patients regarding medications, treatment plans, follow-up appointments, and preventive care
• Scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and collaborating with the care team to support seamless patient experiences
• Contributing to a collaborative team environment where professionalism, communication, and patient-centered care are shared priorities
• Pursuing ongoing professional development through training, continuing education, and organizational resources that support long-term career growth

• This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.
  • Sunday 8a-2p, Monday and Tuesday 9a-6p, Wednesday and Thursday 9a-5:30p
• You hold a current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential (AAMA, AECA, AMCA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, NCMA, or NHA) and a current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• A minimum of 6 months CMA experience is required and electronic medical record (EMR) systems, Epic, knowledge is preferred.
