Role Description

The Certified Medical Assistant will work full time on‑site in Chicago, IL, supporting dermatology providers in delivering attentive, high‑quality patient care. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, escorting patients, obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and intake information, and assisting with medical and cosmetic procedures according to practice protocols. The role involves managing clinical workflows such as documenting encounters, updating electronic medical records, handling lab orders, and coordinating follow‑up visits. The Medical Assistant will also support front‑office functions including scheduling, patient communications, and ensuring a welcoming, inclusive environment. This position requires adherence to safety and infection‑control standards, privacy regulations, and consistent collaboration with the clinical and administrative team.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated proficiency in Medical Assisting, including rooming patients, taking vitals, and assisting with procedures.
• Required to be trained as a phlebotomist and is able to place intravenous (IVs).
• Strong understanding of Medical Terminology relevant to dermatology and general outpatient practice.
• Experience working in a Medical Office setting, including coordination with clinical and front‑desk teams.
• Solid Patient Care skills, with a focus on empathy, professionalism, and culturally competent communication.
• Ability to accurately manage Medical Records, including electronic health records documentation and data integrity.
• Current Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) credential and BLS/CPR certification.
• Prior experience in dermatology, aesthetics, or outpatient specialty care is preferred but not required.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
