Job summary

Forefront Dermatology Casper is hiring a full-time Medical Assistant to support the dermatologist and patient visits. Expect rooming patients, scribing, basic wound care, blood draws, and post-operative tasks in a fast-paced dermatology setting.

The role requires CMA/LPN/RN or similar nursing background, 1+ year medical office experience, and willingness to travel to Douglas and other clinics as needed. Competitive benefits and 401K offered.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and EMR systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skills; ability to multi-task and work in a team

Responsibilities

• Rooming patients and documenting vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post-operative wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments
• Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, I&D, Mohs surgery, phototherapy, injections, and patch testing

Monday - Friday schedule 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM

*Travel 1-2 days weekly to Douglas clinic*

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

• Rooming patients and documents all vital information
• Scribing information for the dermatologist
• Providing post op wound care to patients
• Drawing blood and suture removal
• Cleaning and stocking the exam rooms
• Scheduling patient appointments

Assisting the dermatologist with procedures such as:

• Surgical photographs
• Biopsies - punch, DIF and shave
• Excisions
• Electrodessication and curettage
• I&D
• Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery
• Phototherapy
• Injections
• Koh preps
• Trichograms
• Tzank preps
• Dermabrasion
• Patch testing
• Blue light

Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Post High School education in a medical support field:

Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 1+ years of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred
• Must keep current on all state certifications, licenses and/or registrations to continue employment
• Must be willing to travel to other clinic locations as needed
• Proficiency with computers including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems
• Must possess organizational and communication skillsAbility to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team
