Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with patient care, clerical, environmental, and organizational tasks.
• Accompany patients to exam rooms to obtain vital signs and chief complaints.
• Enter information into the EMR.
• Manage appointment scheduling and patient charts.
• Provide information to patients to help them utilize clinic services effectively.
• Convey a positive image of the organization.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, and Training:

• Completion of Medical Assistant School or Vocational Training.
• Minimum one year of work experience in a public contact role.
• Work experience in healthcare preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification or Registered Medical Assistant credential.
• Knowledge of computer systems, ICD, and CPT codes preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance.
• Current BCLS (AHA) certification upon hire, with ongoing maintenance.
