Job summary

AHN’s HVMG EP Department in Beaver, PA is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant. You will room patients, take vital signs, review medications and history, collect specimens, and assist with injections under provider direction.

Daylight hours, Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays. Required CPR, MA certification, and completion of necessary clearances within 90 days. Prior computer experience is preferred, with responsibilities spanning clinical and admin tasks.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification from an approved certifying body.
• CPR Certification.
• Computer experience and ability to use EMR systems.
• Successful completion of required clearances within 90 days of starting.

Responsibilities

• Rooms patients and takes vital signs and documents findings.
• Reviews patient medication lists and medical/social history.
• Collects specimens and performs basic lab tests as directed.
• Administers injections/medications per provider instructions.
• Performs administrative duties: scheduling, records, referrals.

Office location: Heart and Vascular Center Electrophysiology Department 605 Sharon Road Beaver, PA 15009
Work hours: Monday - Friday daylight, no weekends, no holidays

Rooms patients, collects vital signs, review patient medication list and patient medical/social history, collects specimens and performs basic laboratory tests, administers injections and medications as directed by provider in addition to other clinical tasks. Administrative duties include ordering supplies, updating/maintaining medical records, obtaining referrals/authorizations and scheduling appointments.

Requirements

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certification (i.e., AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, NCCT NCMA, or NAHP NRCMA).
• CPR Certification.
• Computer experience.
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Medical Assistant diploma or degree program.
• Minimum of one year medical assisting experience.
• Proficient in venipuncture.
