Job summary

Tampa General Hospital Imaging Oldsmar is seeking a Mammography Technologist 2 to perform screening and diagnostic mammography under radiologist supervision, ensuring adherence to ACR and FDA protocols, with a focus on patient care and image quality.

The role requires a Florida CRT license, ARRT Mammography registry, BLS, and a 2-year radiologic technology program. Responsibilities include patient prep, image quality, PACS verification, and equipment QC on site in Oldsmar.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a 2-year Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited school.
• Current and valid Florida State License (CRT)
• Current and valid Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry and Mammography (M) registry
• Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (CPR)

Responsibilities

• Verify that the prescription matches the procedure and record reasons for the exam.
• Explain procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation.
• Position patient and adjust immobilization devices for optimum views.
• Move mammography equipment into position and set exposure factors.
• Process radiologic digital images and assess technical quality and diagnostic acceptability.
• Verify exam corresponds to ordered exam in PACS and adjust billing codes as needed.
• Present prior studies with current studies for radiologist assessment.
• Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation.
• Stock and order supplies, check machine, and perform equipment QC.
• All other duties as assigned.
