Job summary

Tampa General Hospital is looking for a Mammography Technologist 2 to perform various mammography procedures under the direction of a Radiologist. Responsibilities include verifying prescriptions, explaining procedures to patients, and ensuring technical quality of radiologic images. Candidates must have a high school diploma, complete a 2-year Radiologic Technology program, hold a Florida State License and ARRT registry, and have BLS certification. This is a full-time on-site position located in Oldsmar, FL.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a 2-year Radiologic Technology Program from an accredited school.
• Current and valid Florida State License (CRT).
• Current and valid Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) registry and Mammography (M) registry.
• Basic Life Support BLS through the American Heart Association (CPR).

Responsibilities

• Verifies prescriptions match procedures and records all relevant symptoms.
• Explains procedures to patients to ease anxieties and ensure cooperation.
• Positions patients and adjusts equipment to obtain optimal views.
• Processes digital images, ensuring technical quality and acceptability.
• Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure.
