Qualifications

• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) certification is required.
• Current CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers certification from an approved certifying organization.
• Current First Aid certification from an approved certifying organization.
• Experience delivering lifeguard certification or recertification courses is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of current lifeguarding, water safety, emergency response, CPR/AED, and First Aid practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare for, and deliver lifeguard certification and recertification courses per American Red Cross standards.
• Provide clear instruction and demonstrations of lifeguarding, rescue, CPR/AED, and First Aid skills.
• Evaluate participant performance and apply course completion and certification requirements.
• Maintain accurate attendance, course completion, and certification records.
• Ensure safe learning environments and report unsafe conditions or equipment concerns.
