Job summary

The YMCA of the North Shore is hiring certified lifeguards for locations across the North Shore, including Beverly, Marblehead, Salem, Ipswich, Haverhill, and Cape Ann. A $500 sign-on bonus is paid after 90 days of employment and is available to currently certified lifeguards only.

We offer flexible shifts (early morning, daytime, evenings, weekends) with pay starting at $16/hour and benefits like free YMCA membership, discounts, and paid training.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 years old.
• Current Lifeguard certification (or ability to obtain certification).
• CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required.
• Calm, confident presence with strong safety focus.
• Good communication skills and teamwork.
• Availability for varied weekday and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor the pool and maintain a safe environment for members.
• Respond to emergencies following YMCA procedures.
• Create a welcoming, positive experience for participants.
• Maintain a clean, organized pool area.
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
