Job summary

HCA HealthONE Rose is seeking a Certified Lead Sterile Processing Technician to accurately perform decontamination, preparation and packaging, storage, and sterilization of instruments and supplies. The role requires careful recording, inventory control, and adherence to department procedures.

Qualified candidates will have Central Service Technician certification and two years of instrument room or OR experience, with supervision from the Central Sterile Manager.

Qualifications

• Current Central Service Technician certification with IAHCSMM or CBSPD or Surgical Technician certification with the State of Colorado is required.
• Central Service Technician certification completion within one year for Surgical Technician is required.
• Education: High school or GED is required.
• Two years’ experience as an Instrument Room or Operating Room Technician is required.

• Perform decontamination, preparation and packaging, storage, inventory control, and sterilization of instruments, trays, equipment, and supplies.
• FIll requests for supplies and equipment and perform related recording and computer entry.
• Maintain department policies and procedures and reflect professional conduct when interacting with staff and employees.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Position Summary: Responsible for accurately performing tasks and activities related to decontamination, preparation and packaging, storage, inventory control, sterilization of instruments, trays, equipment, and supplies. Fills requests for supplies and equipment, does associated recording, charging, and computer entry correctly. Performs daily maintenance and housekeeping duties as required. These task/functions/duties/responsibilities are performed to department policies and procedures. Performance of duties must sincerely and positively reflect consideration and concern whenever interacting with members of the medical staff and employees. Other related duties as required or assigned by supervisor.

• Position Requirements
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Central Service Technician certification with IAHCSMM or CBSPD or Surgical Technician certification with the State of Colorado required. Central Service Technician certification completion within one year for Surgical Technician.

• Experience: Two years’ experience as an Instrument Room or Operating Room Technician.
• Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Basic to advanced knowledge in the role of instrumentation as well as decontamination and sterilization of instruments. Demonstrates good organizational skills. Communicates positively and professionally with all internal and external customers.
• Degree of Supervision Required: Under Manager of Central Sterile
• Orientation Period: Minimum of 2 weeks contingent upon experience. Extensive orientation may be required and will be determined by Department Director/designee.
