Spurwink is seeking a Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) for our newly opened Lewiston Crisis Center, serving individuals 14+ with urgent behavioral health needs. The center operates 24/7 and offers stabilization, observation, and short-term intervention in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment.

The CIPSS will coach participants toward recovery goals, maintain records, and work with a treatment team to connect clients to healthcare and community resources.

Qualifications

• CIPSS certification or Certified Recovery Coach certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Current Maine driver’s license with clean driving record per policy.

Responsabilités

• Build and maintain community relationships and resources.
• Coach participants toward hopeful, fulfilling recovery goals.
• Assist participants in identifying and pursuing recovery paths.
• Maintain records and documentation (EHR) accurately.
• Collaborate with the participant's Treatment Team.
• Apply motivational interviewing and peer-support approaches to engagement.
• Respect confidentiality and adhere to policies.
• Support wellness activities (smoking cessation, weight management, healthy eating).
• Coordinate medical, psychiatric, and dental appointments with primary care providers.

Spurwink is hiring Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) for our newly opened Lewiston Crisis Center, which offers a warm, welcoming environment for individuals ages 14+ experience urgent behavioral health needs. As an alternative to hospitalization or law enforcement intervention, we provide stabilization, observation, assessment, and short-term intervention in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment - open 24/7, 365 days a year, promoting safety, dignity, and recovery.

DUTIES

• Knowledge of and maintain community relationships/resources.
• Coaches participants towards developing satisfying, hopeful and fulfilling lives as defined by the program.
• Assist participants in identifying and pursuing their recovery goals.
• Maintain records, EHR, and documentation as required by Spurwink or State Agencies.
• Develops and maintains effective working relationships with participant's Treatment Team.
• Actively uses relevant aspects of motivational interviewing, life coaching, WRAP, and peer
  support to engage participants.
• Complies with agency policies and procedures.
• Clearly respects the need for participant confidentiality.
• Assist clients with wellness needs by encouraging healthy habits, i.e., quitting smoking, losing
  weight, healthy eating, etc.
• Links clients with primary care providers and medical care.
• Creates and maintains working relationships with community health providers.
• Support participant with scheduling, making and actively engaging in medical, psychiatric, and dental appointments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) certification and/or Certified Recovery Coach certification required. Must maintain a current Maine driver's license and a clean driving record in accordance with Spurwink's driving policy and may be required at times to transport clients.
