Job summary

Spurwink is hiring nurses for our Lewiston Crisis Center, a 24/7 facility serving individuals 14+ with urgent behavioral health needs. We provide stabilization, observation, assessment and short-term interventions in a trauma-informed environment to promote safety, dignity and recovery.

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will monitor health, coordinate care, and support participants and families through education and in-person sessions conducted at the center.

Qualifications

• Must be a registered nurse or PMH-APRN licensed in the state.
• ANCC psychiatric/mental health certification required.
• Driver's license with clean driving record per Spurwink policy.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including education on health, safety and medications.
• Engage, assess, monitor and educate participants and families to improve health outcomes.
• Conduct in-person sessions with participants in the crisis center.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team sharing medical history, medications and health determinants.

Job description

Spurwink is hiring Nurses for our soon-to-open Lewiston Crisis Center, which offers a warm, welcoming environment for individuals ages 14+ experience urgent behavioral health needs. As an alternative to hospitalization or law enforcement intervention, we provide stabilization, observation, assessment, and short-term intervention in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive environment - open 24/7, 365 days a year, promoting safety, dignity, and recovery.

DUTIES:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care, including education on health, safety wellness, self-management skills, and medication.
• Effectively engage, assess, monitor, educate, coordinate, and provide interventions for participants and families to improve quality of care and participant health outcomes.
• Conduct in-person sessions with participants in the crisis center.
• Participates as a member of a multidisciplinary team, by providing health information related to participant medical history and needs, medications, co-morbidities, immunizations, dietary needs, and the behavioral, social, psychological, and environmental determinants of health.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be a registered nurse; or a psychiatric nurse licensed as a registered professional nurse by the state where services are provided and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a psychiatric and mental health nurse; or a PMH-APRN who is licensed as a nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist by the state where services are provided, who has graduated from a child and adolescent or adult psychiatric and mental health nurse practitioner or clinical nurse specialist program and is certified by the appropriate national certifying body; or an advanced practice nurse, as defined by the Maine State Board of Nursing.Maintain a current driver's license and a clean driving record as outlined in Spurwink's Driving Policy.
