Expected pay for this position is $18.98 - $22.34/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills, and internal equity. This is an hourly position.

Overview

This position will support the pharmacy at St. Mary Medical Center in Galesburg.

The pharmacy technician will work a rotating schedule. Pharmacy hours are Monday-Friday 6:00am-8:00pm; Saturday and Sunday hours are 6:00am-4:30pm; holiday hours are 6:00am-4:30pm.

Position Summary

The Certified Pharmacy Technician I assists pharmacists in ensuring medications are promptly, accurately, and safely dispensed, delivered, charged, and credited. Prepares and labels medications to match orders. Maintains records related to drug use and charges. This position requires proficiency in dispensing oral medications and preparing I.V. solutions. Duties may vary by assigned area or shift. The technician must provide patient care appropriate to neonatal, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Work involves standing, lifting, and walking continually while performing duties.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School/GED
• Pharmacy Technician license in Illinois or Michigan
• Pharmacy Technician Certification validated by PTCB or ExCPT
• At least 18 years of age
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year pharmacy experience
• Knowledge of pharmaceutical and medical terminology
• Ability to perform arithmetic calculations
• Intermediate computer skills
