Job summary

United Methodist Communities - HomeWorks is hiring Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) in Northern New Jersey for per diem shifts. Pay ranges from $20.00 to $30.75 per hour and depends on shift and client needs.

Mileage reimbursement, a referral bonus, and training scholarships are available. Candidates must hold an active NJ CHHA certification and be at least 18 years old, with strong English communication to follow care plans and report changes to the nurse.

Qualifications

• Current, active New Jersey CHHA certification.
• 18 or older.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to follow care plans and report changes to the nurse.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and daily routines.
• Support meal preparation, dining, and light household tasks to help maintain a comfortable home environment.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or well-being to the nursing team.
• Provide medication reminders in accordance with the care plan.
• Accompany or transport clients to appointments, errands, and community activities when needed.
• Offer companionship, conversation, and meaningful engagement to support overall quality of life.

About the Division

UMC HomeWorks, the home care division of United Methodist Communities, is a New Jersey nonprofit organization with a long history of serving older adults. Our CHHAs provide one-on-one support to clients throughout Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties, helping them remain comfortable and independent at home while working as part of a supportive care team.

What you'll do
