United Methodist Communities, HomeWorks division, is seeking a Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) in Northern New Jersey for per diem shifts. The role offers $20.00 to $30.75 per hour, with day, evening, or night options depending on shift and client needs.

Responsibilities include assisting clients with personal care, meal prep, light housekeeping, and documentation, while reporting changes to the nursing team.

Qualifications

• Current, active New Jersey CHHA certification.
• 18 years or older.
• Able to read, write, and speak English well enough to follow care plans and report changes to the nurse.
• Preferred: Home care or caregiving experience.

• Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and daily routines.
• Support meal preparation, dining needs, light housekeeping, and maintaining a comfortable home environment.
• Observe and report changes in a client's condition or well-being to the nursing team.
• Provide medication reminders in accordance with the care plan.
• Accompany or transport clients to appointments, errands, and community activities as appropriate.
• Offer companionship, conversation, and meaningful engagement that promotes overall well-being and quality of life.

About the Division

UMC HomeWorks, the home care division of United Methodist Communities, has supported older adults throughout New Jersey for more than a century. Our Certified Home Health Aides provide one-on-one assistance that helps clients remain comfortable, confident, and independent at home, with the support of an experienced nursing team serving Bergen, Passaic, Essex, Hudson, Morris, Sussex, Union, and Warren counties.

What you'll do

• Assist clients with personal care activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and daily routines
• Support meal preparation, dining needs, light housekeeping, and maintaining a comfortable home environment

Pay and benefits

• $20.00 to $30.75 per hour, depending on shift and day of week
• Mileage reimbursement for travel between client visits
• $500 referral bonus for every CHHA you refer who gets hired
