Job summary

Senior Helpers in New Jersey is seeking a caregiver to provide compassionate in-home care, assisting with daily activities and helping clients age with dignity in their own homes.

Qualifications

• Desire to help others and improve clients' quality of life.
• Compassionate, patient, and understanding of client needs.
• NJ Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
• Valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
• TB skin test (PPD) per NJ law.
• Background check screening required.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional in-home care to clients.
• Offer companionship and engage with clients and families.
• Assist with personal care activities (hygiene, mobility, incontinence care, light housekeeping, meals).
• Complete daily tasks safely and professionally (ADLs).
• Collaborate with client’s care team and report health changes.
• Document task completion and report changes in client condition.

Qualifications:

• A genuine desire to assist others and improve their quality of life.
• Compassionate, patient, and understanding of the needs of our clients.
• CertifiedHHA or CNA in the State of New Jersey (REQUIRED).
• A valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
• PPD test (skin test for TB per NJ Law).
• Must complete abackground check screening.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering exceptional care to our clients.
• Supply personal companionship, remaining actively engaged with each client and their families.
• Assist with personal care activities to include personal hygiene, mobility assistance, incontinence care, light housekeeping, feeding and meal preparation.
• Complete all daily tasks in a safe and professional manner (ADLs).
• Collaborate with client’s care team to provide client updates and important health changes.
• Administrative functions such as documentation of completion of tasks and reporting changes in the client’s physical condition, mental capability, or behavior.

Every client will have different needs that they require assistance with, but we make sure to match our clients and caregivers for the optimal fit. Care provided could include ADLs such as grooming, eating, walking, bathing, and other self-care tasks. It could also include assisting with fun hobbies and games that a client enjoys.
