Job summary

Forefront Dermatology is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and support dermatopathology review. You will handle grossing, fixation, embedding, staining, and slide preparation with attention to accuracy and record-keeping.

The role requires NAACLS histology training and HT ASCP eligibility, with 2+ years preferred. Full-time, third shift positions offering comprehensive benefits and sign-on where applicable.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required.
• Completion of NAACLS histology training program required.
• HT ASCP certification or eligibility to sit for exam required within one year of hire.
• CLIA requirements knowledge preferred: 60 semester hours with biology/chemistry mix and training.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex histology procedures using a variety of techniques.
• Accession and receive tissue specimens.
• Prepare media, chemicals, reagents, and solutions for processing.
• Process tissue, embedding, microtomy, staining, and cryostat use.
• Label, prepare slides, and perform quality control on slides.
• Maintain documentation and logs per QA/QC standards.
• Identify issues that may affect diagnosis with oversight.
• Maintain lab supplies and equipment; ensure safety and compliance.
