Job summary

Protouch Staffing seeks a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) for an outpatient hand therapy role in Salem, OR. The position focuses on specialized hand and upper extremity care for adults (18+), collaborating with hand surgeons and a seasoned therapy team.

Responsibilities include evaluations, evidence-based treatments, and custom orthosis fabrication, with a typical daily patient load of 10–15. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, no on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate in Occupational or Physical Therapy.
• Active CHT credential is required.
• Oregon OT or PT license (or ability to obtain) before start.
• Outpatient hand/orthopedic experience is preferred.

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of upper extremity injuries and conditions.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans for 10–15 patients per day.
• Design and fabricate custom orthoses for post-operative and trauma care.
• Guide patients through rehab after surgery, fractures, tendon repairs, and nerve injuries.
• Maintain timely clinical documentation and collaborate with surgical providers.

Job Title: Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

Location: Salem, OR

Job Type: Full-Time Preferred (Near Full-Time Considered)

Role Overview

Provide specialized hand and upper extremity therapy for adult patients (ages 18+) in a dedicated outpatient hand therapy setting. Working alongside fellowship-trained hand surgeons and an experienced therapy team, you will perform evaluations, deliver evidence-based treatments, and design custom orthoses for complex post-operative, trauma, and chronic conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of upper extremity injuries and conditions.
• Develop and execute individualized treatment plans for an average volume of 10-15 patients per day.
• Design and fabricate custom orthoses for post-operative care, trauma, and functional recovery.
• Guide patients through progressive rehabilitation following surgery, fractures, tendon repairs, and nerve injuries.
• Maintain timely, accurate clinical documentation and collaborate closely with surgical providers.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM).
• No nights, weekends, or on-call requirements.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy (OT) or Physical Therapy (PT).
• Active Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential.
• Active Oregon OT or PT License (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Minimum 2 years of strong orthopedic and upper extremity rehabilitation experience preferred (experienced CHTs preferred; new grads considered if ideal fit).
• Outpatient orthopedic/hand specialty practice experience and custom orthosis fabrication skills preferred.
