Job summary

SUNLAND ASPHALT is seeking Certified Flaggers to support our asphalt paving projects in the Kykotsmovi, AZ area. The Certified Flagger plays a critical role in jobsite safety, directing and slowing traffic while properly utilizing traffic control devices, equipment, and strategies throughout the work zone.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Six months to one year related experience preferred.
• Ability to speak read and write English preferred.
• Flagger certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an advocate for safety by following all company safety policies and procedures.
• Work with the Foreman or Crew Leader to ensure the jobsite is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
• Set up barricades, cones, and related signage to provide a safe flagging work environment for our partners in the work zone.
• Make field adjustments and corrections to keep the project safe for the customer, municipality, motoring public, and pedestrians.
• Operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and tools in compliance with local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
• Coordinate and work with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to complete the job.
• Serve as a front-line company representative, providing excellent service to the customer and the public.
• Drive to and from designated work zones with all equipment necessary to establish a safe work zone.
• Maintain jobsites and equipment to ensure the highest-quality setups and to uphold The Sunland Way.
