Job summary

Sunland Asphalt is seeking a Certified Flagger to support asphalt paving projects in the Kykotsmovi, AZ area. The Flagger ensures jobsite safety by directing and slowing traffic and using traffic control devices and strategies throughout the work zone.

A high school diploma or GED is preferred. Six months to one year of related experience is preferred, along with English language proficiency and flagger certification if available.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Six (6) months to one (1) year related experience is preferred.
• Ability to speak, read and write English is preferred.
• Flagger certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an advocate for safety by following all company safety policies and procedures.
• Work with the Foreman or Crew Leader to ensure the jobsite is safe and traffic is controlled prior to commencing work.
• Set up barricades, cones, and related signage to provide a safe flagging work environment for our partners in the work zone.
• Make field adjustments and corrections to keep the project safe for the customer, municipality, motoring public, and pedestrians.
• Operate vehicles, trailers, machinery, equipment, and tools in compliance with local, state, and federal safety guidelines.
• Coordinate and work with contractors, subcontractors, and vendors to complete the job.
• Serve as a front-line company representative, providing excellent service to the customer and the public.
• Drive to and from designated work zones with all equipment necessary to establish a safe work zone.
• Maintain jobsites and equipment to ensure the highest-quality setups and to uphold The Sunland Way.
