Job summary

North Port Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a Certified Dietary Manager to oversee the daily operations of our foodservice department and ensure quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

The role requires a CDM credential and a background in foodservice management. You will lead staff, manage menus and budgets, and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• CDM credentialing completed or active certification status.
• 2 years’ experience in foodservice management.
• Ability to motivate, coach, and supervise foodservice personnel.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement menus meeting patients' nutritional needs.
• Order, receive, and store food per regulations.
• Ensure food is prepared using safe and sanitary methods.
• Monitor kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance.
• Manage department budgets and monitor food costs.
• Supervise and train staff in handling and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain accurate meal counts and food cost reports.
• Interact with patients/families to address dietary needs.

Job Summary:

As a Certified Dietary Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the daily operations of our foodservice department meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. If you are a motivated and experienced professional with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of patients/residents while maintaining quality and variety
• Order, receive, and store food in compliance with all state and federal regulations
• Ensure that food is prepared using safe and sanitary methods
• Monitor and organize kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance
• Manage departmental budgets, analyzing food costs and modifying menus accordingly to stay within budget
• Supervise and train staff in proper food handling, preparation, service, and sanitation procedures
• Maintain accurate meal counts and food cost reports
• Interact with patients/residents and families to resolve any issues related to their dietary needs
• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the dietary department based on established standards and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Dietary Manager’s Program, 2-yr, or 4-yr foodservice program
• Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active certification status
• 2 years’ experience in foodservice management
• Skill in motivating, coaching, and supervising foodservice personnel
• Current awareness of legislation and regulations influencing the practice of standards of care
