Job summary

Fundamental seeks a Dietary Manager to lead and oversee the dietary department within a hospital/long-term care setting. You will manage operations, staff, budgeting and compliance with federal, state, and local standards to ensure quality meals for residents and patients.

Responsibilities include scheduling, training, meetings and cross-department education to maintain high nutritional services standards. A Certified Dietary Manager and supervisory background in a medical facility are essential.

Qualifications

• Certified Dietary Manager required; long-term care experience preferred.
• Minimum two-plus years in a supervisory role in a hospital or skilled facility.
• Training in cost control, food management and diet therapy.
• Current licensure as required by law; maintain active status.
• Any combination of experience and training that covers required skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and direct the dietary department operations per regs.
• Schedule departmental hours and personnel to ensure patient care quality.
• Develop and deliver onboarding and orientation for new staff.
• Schedule monthly in-services for department personnel.
• Hold routine departmental meetings and educate other departments about dietary services.

Posted Salary Range

USD $62,400.00 - USD $70,720.00 /Yr.

Wage Commensuration

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, education and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current applicable Federal, State and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
• Schedule department working hours, personnel, work assignments, etc., to maintain quality patient care.
• Develop and participate in programs designed for on-the-job training and orientation classes for newly assigned department personnel.
• Schedule and/or conduct a monthly in-service for department personnel.
• Hold routine departmental meetings.
• Provide education to other departments in the facility regarding dietary services.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Must be a Certified Dietary Manager, long term care experience preferred
• Minimum of two+ years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other related medical facility
• Training in cost control, food management, diet therapy, etc.
• Must maintain current licensure as required by law
• Any combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
• Reliable transportation required
