National HealthCare Corporation (NHC) Greenwood is seeking an Assistant Certified Dietary Manager to support the Food & Nutrition Services Department. You will assist with staff scheduling, inventory management, and food ordering, while helping ensure quality meal service and regulatory compliance.

The role involves training and supporting team members, collaborating with leadership, and aiding the Registered Dietitian with clinical and administrative duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience is required.
• Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise FNS partners.
• May be required to have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
• May be required to be licensed and/or certified as required by specific state guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and supervise all dietary functions and partners.
• Responsible for the preparation and service of nutritious meals, considering special diets and preferences; obtain menu approval if not a Registered Dietitian.
• Manage food and supply purchases and maintain cost records; participate in budget planning.
• Interviews, hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and, when appropriate, terminates dietary staff; schedule hours and assignments.
• Evaluates work performance and maintains personnel records of dietary partners.

Job description

Position: Assistant Certified Dietary Manager

The Assistant Certified Dietary Manager supports the daily operations of the Food & Nutrition Services Department. Responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, inventory management, and food ordering; providing ongoing training and support to team members; helping ensure quality food preparation and service for all customers; monitoring compliance with budgetary guidelines; and assisting the Registered Dietitian with clinical and administrative duties as needed. The Assistant Certified Dietary Manager works collaboratively with department leadership to promote efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and high-quality resident care. Relevant experience is required.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience in administration will be helpful; however, it is not required.
• At least one year experience in clinical will be helpful; however, it is not required.
• Must possess leadership qualities and be able to supervise and secure the cooperation of the FNS partners.
• May be required to have or obtain a Food Handlers Certificate or Sanitation Course, as required by state regulations.
• May be required to be licensed and/or certified as required by specific state guidelines.

Position Highlights

If there is no Director of Dietary, the Dietary Manager is responsible for the total operation of the Dietary Department.

• Plans, directs, and supervises all dietary functions and partners.
• Responsible for the preparation and service of nutritious meals for all customers, considering any special diet requirements and individual food preferences. Responsible for obtaining menu approval if not a Registered Dietitian.
• Responsible for food and supply purchases and for maintaining cost records. Responsible for meeting budget guidelines for food, supply, labor, and total budget and participates in budget planning.
• Responsible for equipment purchases, maintaining equipment records, notification to the maintenance department of equipment not operating properly, and in preparation of preventive maintenance sheets. Interviews, hires, orients, trains, counsels, disciplines, and when appropriate, terminates dietary partners. Schedules work hours and assignments, and reviews and checks work assignments.
• Evaluates work performance and completes periodic evaluations of dietary partners. Maintains the personnel records of the dietary partners.
