Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking a certified crane operator for a data center project in El Paso, TX. You will run a 70-ton or 55-ton Terex crane, stay within the load chart, and coordinate lifts with the site team.

The assignment runs five to six ten-hour days per week for 5+ months, with a competitive hourly rate and a $175 per diem. Must have NCCCO TLL, OSHA 10, and DOT medical card.

Qualifications

  • NCCCO certification with TLL endorsement required and current.
  • OSHA 10 card current and unexpired.
  • DOT medical card current.
  • Experience with telescopic boom, swing-cab cranes in 50–100 ton class preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a 70-ton or 55-ton Terex crane and stay within the load chart on every lift.
  • Set up each pick including outriggers, cribbing, counterweight, boom configuration, radius, and load chart check.
  • Place equipment and transformers on an active data center build.
  • Perform and document daily crane inspections and shut down when necessary.
  • Coordinate every lift with the site superintendent, riggers, and signalperson.
  • Maintain the schedule for five to six 10-hour days per week for 5+ months.

A national general contractor is adding a certified crane operator to a data center project in El Paso, TX. The work is setting equipment and transformers on a 70-ton or 55-ton Terex crane.



  • $46.00/hour

  • 5+ months anticipated | 5-6 days/week, 10-hour shifts (50-60 hours/week)

  • $175.00/day per diem

  • Requires NCCCO certification with TLL endorsement, OSHA 10, and a current DOT medical card

  • Start date: 08.31.2026 or 09.02.2026


Overview


  • Run a 70-ton or 55-ton Terex crane and stay inside the load chart on every pick

  • Set up each pick — outrigger position and cribbing, counterweight, boom configuration, radius, and a load chart check before the load leaves the ground

  • Set equipment and transformers on an active data center build

  • Perform and document daily crane inspections, and shut the machine down when it needs it

  • Coordinate every lift with the site superintendent, riggers, and signalperson

  • Hold the schedule for the length of the run — five to six 10-hour days a week for 5-plus months


Skills and Experience

Required


  • NCCCO certification with TLL endorsement, current and unexpired

  • Current OSHA 10 card

  • Current DOT medical card

  • Telescopic boom, swing-cab crane time in the 50-100 ton class — Terex, Grove, Link-Belt, or Tadano

  • Able to pass pre-employment drug and background screening

  • Equipment, transformer, switchgear, or substation setting experience

  • Data center, mission-critical, or heavy industrial new construction background

  • Terex-specific hours

  • History of finishing long out-of-town runs — 5 months or more without dragging up
