Job description

Are you an experienced machinist with a passion for precision work? Do you have a strong understanding of reciprocating compressor components and hands-on expertise in manual machining? If so, we want you on our team!

As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a crucial role in machining, repairing, and fabricating compressor components with precision and skill. Your expertise in turning, milling, and grinding will ensure the performance and reliability of essential equipment.

How you will make a difference
  • Perform precision machining on engine lathes, vertical lathes, and horizontal boring mills.
  • Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
  • Provide feedback on equipment, tooling, and fixtures to optimize setup times and reduce scrap and rework.
  • Collaborate with production supervisors and quality teams to improve efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Utilize G-Zero and/or Fusion programming; editing skills are a plus.
What you should be good at
  • 5-10+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC machines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to set up and indicate jaws, select cutting tools, adjust offsets, and troubleshoot CNC programs.
  • Understanding of reciprocating compressor components and machining (preferred).
  • Strong math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, engineering memos, and material data sheets.
  • Clear communication skills in English and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong reasoning skills for troubleshooting machining issues.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Certified CNC Machinist certification preferred.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry or with reciprocating compressors is a plus.
  • Experience performing own setups is preferable.
  • This is a hands-on role requiring frequent standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, 12-hour shifts, and weekends as needed.
