Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center is seeking a Certified Central Processing Technician for Central Sterile Supply. This full-time role runs days, 7 AM–3 PM, with weekends and alternating holidays, and reports to the CSPD supervisor.

You will clean, reprocess and sterilize instruments, ensuring compliance with policies and patient safety in a high-volume setting within the Columbia University Medical Center facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST certification from IAHCSMM or certification by CBSPD is required.

Responsibilities

• Manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes per policies.
• Sterilize and assemble equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Follow procedures to ensure patient safety in a high-volume CSPD.

Certified Central Processing Technician - Central Sterile Supply - Full-time - Days

In this role, you will be responsible for manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor.Executes the cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques. Utilize your strong work ethic in this high volume department, that is crucial to patient safety.

This is a full time position working 7AM-3PM, including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior CSPD experience
• Experience with scopes
• CER certification

RequiredCriteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Salary Range:

$28.14-$30.18/Hourly
