Job summary

NewYork-Presbyterian is seeking a Certified Central Processing Technician for Central Sterile Supply. The role is full-time in the evenings (3PM-11PM) with rotating weekends and alternating holidays at Columbia University Medical Center.

You will manually clean and reprocess scopes, ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards in a high-volume setting. Required are a High School Diploma or GED and CRCST certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD; prior CSPD experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• CRCST CER certification from IAHCSMM or CBSPD preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manually clean and reprocess scopes following established policies and procedures.
• Execute cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Follow prescribed techniques in a high-volume CSPD department to support patient safety.
• Work a 3PM-11PM shift with rotating weekends and alternating holidays.

In this role, you will be responsible for manually cleaning and reprocessing scopes in a safe and cost-effective manner using established policies and procedures under the direction of the department supervisor. Executes the cleaning, sterilization and assembly of equipment, supplies and instruments following prescribed procedures and techniques. Utilize your strong work ethic in this high volume department, that is crucial to patient safety. This is a full time position working 3PM-11PM, including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, at NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center.

Preferred Criteria

• Prior CSPD experience
• Experience with scopes CER certification

Required Criteria

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management or certified by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD)

Salary Range: $28.14-$30.18/Hourly
