BPR Consulting Group is seeking an experienced, certified Plans Examiner to join our team in California. The role involves checking plans for compliance with building codes, coordinating with other departments, and preparing plan check reports.

Ideal candidates have 2+ years as a plans examiner, strong California code knowledge, and at least ICC certification. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available, with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Two plus years as a building plans examiner for a local or state building department or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of building inspection and construction processes.
• Experience in interpretation and application of building codes.
• Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.

Responsabilités

• Perform plan checking to ensure compliance with uniform building codes, zoning regulations and ordinances.
• Provide information to the public, contractors and architects interpreting construction codes.
• Coordinate plan checking with other agency departments and transmit plans and comments as needed.
• Establish and maintain log sheets and files to track project status and file approved plans.
• Assist in operating the permit counter, provide information to customers, and issue building permits.
• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.
• Work in alignment with company policies and procedures.
• Deliver services in an efficient, proactive, and client-focused manner.
