Job summary

BPR Consulting Group LLC is seeking an experienced and certified Plans Examiner to join our growing team in California. This full-time and part-time opportunity requires evaluating building plans for compliance with uniform codes, zoning regulations, and ordinances, and communicating findings to applicants.

The ideal candidate will possess strong California building code knowledge, at least ICC certification (Plans Examiner preferred), and the ability to coordinate plan checks with other

Qualifications

• Two or more years as a building plans examiner for a local or state department.
• Knowledge of building inspection and construction processes.
• Experience interpreting and applying building codes.
• Advanced knowledge of California Building Codes.
• Minimum of ICC certification, preferably ICC Plans Examiner.

Responsibilities

• Examine plans for compliance with codes and ordinances.
• Provide code interpretations to contractors and architects.
• Coordinate plan checks with other departments.
• Maintain logs and files of current projects.
• Assist permit counter and issue building permits.
• Perform related duties as required.
• Ensure all work adheres to company policies.
• Deliver services efficiently and professionally.
