Job Description Summary:
Responsible for the evaluation and treatment of outpatients as directed by the physician, and for coverage of athletic teams that request sports coverage. Treats pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. Current certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer by the National Athletic Trainers Association and current State of Tennessee License as an Athletic Trainer by the State Board of Athletic Trainers required. Under the general supervision of the Manager of Sports Medicine Services, is responsible for the coverage of athletic teams’ sports event and prevention and assessment of injuries, injuries in area industries, and other associated responsibilities as they arise. Also responsible for performing patient treatments and for directing the activities of support personnel. The employee is subject to call back as required by the hospital.
