Pardee UNC Health Care is seeking a Certified Athletic Trainer to provide sports medicine services for prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Must be BOC certified and hold state athletic training licensure, certification or registration (ATC). NPI number required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

  • Provides onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation.
  • Assesses risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.
  • Documents all patient encounters in the EMR.
  • Coordinates and implement injury prevention programs and customize preventative strategies for each patient.
  • Minimizes risk of injury through awareness, education and prevention strategies.
  • Provides accommodation recommendations for student athletes with restrictions or limitations.
  • Communicates with physicians and coaching staff regarding injury status.
  • Administers medical care for assigned student-athletes per sports medicine SOPs.
  • Performs administrative and other duties assigned by supervisor.

Summary:
The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing sports medicine services for the prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. This position will perform both outreach and periodic clinical duties for the sports medicine program including, but not limited to, provision of athletic health care services to assigned schools, evaluation, diagnosis, management, treatment, rehabilitation and intervention of injuries and illness, tracking and reporting of athletic injuries as well as performing clinical duties as assigned.

  • Administers medical care for assigned student-athletes per the sports medicine standard operating procedures.
  • Performs administrative and other duties assigned by supervisor.

Physical Requirements
  • Work is medium demand. Lifting 100 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects. Medium strength is required to position patients for examination. May assist patients as needed, helping them on and off the exam table. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
