Employee Daycare Rates:

Position Details:

The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for injury prevention, health maintenance, and recovery of athletes, in accordance with the Illinois Athletic Trainers Practice Act. The role includes acting as a Physician Extender during clinics or as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Provide athletic training coverage at a local high school for events and patient care.
• Assist with coach clinics and outreach, including injury evaluation, prevention, and rehabilitation.
• Offer medical coverage at outside games, practices, and tournaments.
• Communicate with athletes, parents, coaches, and physicians regarding athlete health and readiness.
• Coordinate with school athletic directors for sports coverage and programs.
• Evaluate and treat patients within departmental and state guidelines, including assessments and communication with physicians.
• Educate patients on treatment protocols and ensure understanding and adherence.
• Participate in professional athletic training organizations as appropriate.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
