Position: 970P04 - Sports Team Athletic Trainer– St. Francis Eastside

Job Summary: The Sports Team Athletic Trainer provides essential medical coverage for athletic practices, games, and events across educational institutions or community teams. Responsibilities include evaluating, treating, preventing, and rehabilitating injuries, managing medical emergencies, supporting community events, delivering prevention programs, educating coaches, athletes, and parents, and conducting CPR training.

Essential Functions:

  1. Perform athletic injury evaluations, treatments, and rehabilitation following protocols established by orthopedic/sports medicine physicians.
  2. Provide emergency medical services, including stabilization of fractures, management of medical emergencies, traumatic brain injuries, and catastrophic injuries.
  3. Safely administer medications in compliance with state regulations.
  4. Develop and manage injury prevention programs tailored for athletes.
  5. Coordinate referrals to ensure seamless care with specialists.
  6. Communicate injury statuses effectively to coaches, parents, and team physicians.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training (required)
  • Master’s degree in Athletic Training (preferred)

Licensing & Certifications:

  • NATA BOC Certified (required)
  • Current Athletic Trainer license in the practicing state (if required by law)
  • BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for BSMH, or at hire for RSFH)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years in an equivalent setting (preferred)
