Certified Athletic Trainer
We are seeking a passionate and committed Certified Athletic Trainer to join our dynamic team in the scenic and vibrant Elmira, NY area. In this role, you will manage a comprehensive sports medicine program encompassing injury prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning for athletes. Salary: $55,000.00 - $88,600.00 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide athletic training services for all sport-related events in accordance with current contracts.
- Perform injury prevention, recognition, assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
- Develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans utilizing appropriate modalities and therapeutic exercises based on athlete evaluations.
- Ensure the comfort and safety of athletes during treatments and develop strength and conditioning programs tailored to individual needs.
- Manage on-site first aid/emergency care and coordinate follow-up care and medical referrals.
- Travel with the team to away games, including overnight stays as needed, and provide coverage for assigned sports games or matches.
- Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, coaches, and medical professionals regarding athlete's health and competition readiness.
- Maintain detailed medical records and injury logs, and participate in community service and educational programs related to sports medicine.
- Assist in program development and perform administrative tasks related to sports medicine services.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, or related health field.
- Current certification from the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers (BOC).
- Valid CPR certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Strong understanding of sports medicine practice and principles.
- Ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One to two years of experience in athletic training, preferably in a sports team environment.
- Experience with electronic medical records and injury tracking systems.
- Advanced skills in athletic equipment fitting and injury preventive measures.
- Familiarity with the latest trends and treatments in sports medicine.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact positively with a diverse athlete population.
