Job summary

CommuniCare Health Services Salem West and Salem North are seeking a Certified Activities Director to lead our activities team and oversee resident-centered programs. You will manage activities for both campuses, coordinate with leads, and ensure engaging programs that support residents’ rights, preferences, and well-being.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Therapeutic Recreation (or related field) or has completed the 90-hour course for activities professionals, plus prior management

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in therapeutic recreation or related field or 90-hr course for activity professionals.
• Certification is required.
• Prior management, supervisory, or leadership experience.
• Active state driver’s license may be required.
• Knowledge of activity practices and state regulations pertaining to long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate all diversified resident-centered activities.
• Involve residents in planning individualized activities programs and advocate for their needs.
• Participate in meetings (resident/family council, department head, etc.).
• Maintain records and reports related to activities.
• May participate in fundraising events.
• Promote community relationships through outings and volunteers.
• Identify need for and perform disciplinary action as required.
