Job summary

CommuniCare Salem West and Salem North seeks a Certified Activities Director to lead the activities team, plan resident-centered programs, and advocate for resident rights. You will oversee both campuses with leads in each building and drive engagement across the community.

Prerequisites include a Bachelor's degree in therapeutic recreation or a 90-hour course, plus prior management experience and a valid driver's license. This is a full-time role with competitive wages, benefits, and PTO.

Qualifications

• Certification is required and knowledge of activity practices and standards.
• Familiar with state practice acts, regulations for long-term care.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate diversified resident-centered activities.
• Involve residents in planning and advocate for their needs and rights.
• Participate in resident, family, department head and other meetings.
• Maintain records and reports related to activities.
• May participate in fundraising events.
• Promote relationships with community organizations and volunteers.
• Identify need for and perform disciplinary action as required.
• Oversee activities for two campuses with leads in each building.

If you are a highly energetic, creative thinker with strong leadership skills, we invite you to join our team and help bring enjoyment to the lives of our residents!You will be overseeing activities for both Salem West and Salem North with leads in each building.Qualified candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field or have completed the 90 hour course for activities professionals and continuing education. Prior management experience is required. This position may require driving, so an active driver's license with a good driving record is required.Job duties may include:Plan, develop, coordinate, and evaluate all diversified resident-centered activities as neededInvolve residents in planning individualized activities programs, oversee residents' participation, and advocate for residents regarding their needs, preferences, interests, and rightsParticipate in meetings including resident council meetings, family council meetings, department head meetings, and other committee meetings as requiredMaintain records and reports related to activitiesMay participate in fundraising eventsPromote positive relationships with individuals, businesses, and organizations in the community through outings and activities provided by volunteersIdentify need for and perform disciplinary action as requiredWe have a great knowledgeable staff, and we are looking for someone that wants to be a part of an experienced, caring team.
