Job summary

The City of Hampton is seeking Certified Public Safety Dispatchers to be the vital link between the community and emergency responders. You will answer 911 and non-emergency calls, provide accurate information, and dispatch police, fire and EMS resources to protect residents.

Qualifications

• Completion of a standard high school course of study or the GED.
• Ability to pass a 40 wpm typing test with 5 errors; complete trainee program including Call Taker, Fire and Police Telecommunications.
• Must pass a Police Department background investigation including polygraph and drug screen.
• Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record.
