Job summary

Prattwhitney is seeking an engineering professional to learn and apply certification processes for active commercial engine programs. You will collaborate with certification specialists and CIPTs to develop substantiation plans and reports for initial and post-certification design changes.

You will track deliverables through the FAA certification process, coordinate with SIPTs, and may advance to an ODA role with delegated FAA authority. Travel up to 10% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree plus 8 years of engineering experience or Advanced degree with 5 years of engineering experience.
• U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.

Job description

What You Will Do

• Learn the commercial engine certification process and apply it for the active commercial certification programs including the NGPF (Next Generation Product Family) Programs.
• Collaborate with existing certification specialists, ODA Unit Members, CIPTs, other systems disciplines and technical specialists to support development of substantiation plans and reports for initial engine model certification activity and post certification design changes.
• Track certification deliverables through the various steps of the certification process and coordinate with members of the various engine program SIPTs (System Integrated Product Teams).
• Lead validation projects (via the FAA) for certified product through foreign regulators following established agreements.
• Once fully proficient in this position you may eventually be eligible as an ODA unit member with FAA delegated authority providing dedicated support to one or more specific engine programs.
• Travel is up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree 8 years of engineering experience or an Advanced degree with 5 years of engineering experience
