American Board of Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a Certification Content Manager to lead the development and quality-control of assessment content for its certification programs. Certification Content Manager
Reports to: Certification and Programs Director - American Board of Pediatric Dentistry
Employment status: Full-time, salaried
Work location: Remote
Schedule: Primarily standard business hours, with occasional evening or weekend meetings based on committee schedules and program needs
The Certification Content Manager leads the operational development and quality-control processes for assessment content used in ABPD initial and continuing certification programs. The role manages item-writing assignments and review workflows, supports item-writing committees, and helps ensure item development activities are conducted in accordance with established ABPD policies, examination development standards, and applicable accreditation requirements.
Working closely with item-writing committee leaders and members, ABPD staff, and psychometric consultants, the Certification Content Manager supports examination validity and psychometric integrity through established quality-control processes, careful content review, and data-informed decision-making. The role also contributes to the continuous improvement and innovation of item development methodologies, workflows, systems, and committee training.
Bachelor's degree.
Project management experience, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments, deadlines, and stakeholders.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to identify inconsistencies, gaps, and quality concerns.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and/or demonstrated ability to learn and effectively utilize new software, including Microsoft Office, item-banking software, task-management software, and other technology platforms.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment while maintaining effective communication, organization, responsiveness, and accountability.
Ability to occasionally participate in evening or weekend meetings based on committee schedules and program needs.
Ability to travel approximately 1-3 times annually for periods of approximately 3-6 days.
Experience in assessment development, credentialing, certification, testing, or a related field.
Experience supporting item-writing committees, volunteer committees, or other expert workgroups.
Experience developing process documentation, SOPs, training materials, or committee guidance.
