Job summary

General Mills is seeking a Technologist to support the Family Favorites Business Unit, collaborating across Kid cereals, cereal innovation, and emerging brands. You will help prototype, run laboratory experiments, and scale ideas toward commercialization while coordinating documentation and system specs.

The role emphasizes safety, cross-functional teamwork, and rapid learning in a dynamic food development environment within the FFBU portfolio.

Qualifications

• 2-Year Degree or High School Degree with 2+ years of directly relatable experience.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable in a lab, pilot plant and manufacturing environment; direct experience preferred.
• Strong organizational, documentation and project-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• High learning agility and willingness to learn in new spaces.
• Effective communicator across audiences.
• Attention to detail with a methodical technical approach.

Responsibilities

• Support product R&D across the FFBU including Kid Cereal, Emerging Brands, and Innovation exploration.
• Design, coordinate, execute and document experiments from benchtop to full-scale manufacturing.
• Learn equipment and technology across multiple technical platforms.
• Safely operate equipment and perform risk assessments in line with food safety requirements.
• Contribute to basic product formulation and documentation in GMI systems.
• Participate in pipeline-building and prototype-based feasibility demonstrations.
• Leverage digital tools to accelerate insights and cross-functional learning.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to drive project advancement.
